Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation Supplies Week 21, 2020

Karan-White-Animal-Patrons-Distribution-Centre-May-2020

It’s lovely to recommence our weekly posts after a short break.  We have lots of ‘thank yous’ to catch up on during our recent absence.  First, a heartfelt thanks to our friends at Lyf Solutions for their work in optimising our website. To the lovely Lauren for her new blog post (soon to be published) and to all the Patrons who have donated and visited us in recent weeks.

We’d also like to extend our gratitude to all who work to support their community as we start National Volunteer Week.

Recent months have been challenging as we’ve had to stretch our resourcing beyond what we imagined was possible. As restrictions start to lift, we expect to open the Distribution Centre for additional days, extended our volunteer team and our impact. We’ll work hard to update you on news and convey appropriate thanks over the next week.

For now, we’ll start with the current list of goods required, as requested by sanctuaries, shelters and carers. Feeding, providing warmth and medical supplies is our continued focus with Winter just a couple of weeks away.

Rescue and Rehabilitation Supplies – Week 21, 2020

Any item from our wish list will greatly assist the efforts being made to the animal carers we are assisting.

Feeding, providing warmth and medical supplies is our continued focus with Winter just a couple of weeks away.

General and Household Supplies – available from most supermarkets, pet stores or recycled from your home

Animal Supplies – available from most pet stores, wildlife feed suppliers and online

How we distribute donated goods

Our method for distribution of goods is varying in response to protocols imposed as a consequence of COVID-19. We are currently utilising couriers and where possible, volunteers. All deliveries are non-contact until further notice.

Distribution by request

Animal carers may contact our Sanctuary Co-ordinator to directly request goods. Upon receipt of a request, we pack the order from stock holdings and arrange no-contact delivery via our volunteer network, or courier. Alternatively, we arrange a private collection time from our Swan Street, Richmond Distribution Centre.

If we are unable to supply requested goods, we will endeavour to source those items via our extended network. We also note these for future supply lists.

Distribution by direct support

Our team is constantly monitoring news items, chat groups, social media and other sources for requests of support. Once we have identified a carer we can support, our Sanctuary Co-ordinator will reach out to arrange supply of required items.

Animal Patrons Australia needs your financial support. We can’t do it without you and we won’t succeed without support from our Patrons. If you can spare a once-off donation or a recurring contribution we can immediately widen our reach and impact, you can donate here.
